Resumo

This article proposes a study about the book History of the Wars, writing by Procopius of Caesarea in the sixth century, which narrates the Byzantines achievements of Justinian at Mediterranean and Eastern Persia. The goal is to analyze how the descriptions of Procopius about the barbarian people can be understood as a narrative committed and, at the same time, subjected to the imperial project of expanding boundaries.
