Objetivo: Refletir sobre o impacto da violência dos usuários e/ou familiares na saúde mental dos profissionais de enfermagem. Desenvolvimento: A violência contra profissionais de enfermagem nas unidades de emergência constitui um problema persistente e naturalizado, com consequências diretas na saúde emocional, no desempenho profissional e na qualidade do atendimento. Diversos estudos relatam que mais de 60% da equipe já foi vítima de agressões, principalmente verbais, resultando em estresse, ansiedade, exaustão e burnout. Essa situação afeta negativamente a empatia, a concentração e a capacidade de resposta clínica, comprometendo a segurança do paciente. Fatores como o colapso assistencial, os longos tempos de espera e a sobrecarga de trabalho são apontados como possíveis gatilhos para o comportamento agressivo de usuários e familiares. No entanto, a ausência de protocolos institucionais claros, a falta de apoio psicológico e a escassa cultura de autocuidado agravam o problema, deixando os profissionais expostos e sem respaldo. Conclusões: A violência nos serviços de urgência deve ser enfrentada como uma ameaça sistêmica que exige respostas integrais. É urgente estabelecer políticas de prevenção, protocolos de ação, apoio psicoemocional e intervenções educativas desde a formação de graduação. Reconhecer e enfrentar essa problemática é fundamental para proteger a saúde dos profissionais e garantir um ambiente clínico seguro e humanizado.
