Las relaciones entre Europa Occidental y América Latina : una profundización esquiva

Abstract

The year 1988 did not record any significant changes in the field of European-Latin American relations. Within a context marked by multiple priorities and great challenges for the two regions, an interregional dialogue has continued to develop; and although it may reflect common objectives, it takes place at very different and varied levels. We argue that while it is clear that Latin America does not have a high priority for Western Europe, just as it is equally clear that Latin America's central concerns do not point to the old continent, this does not mean that relations between the two regions lack possibilities of growth.
