Between January 23 and February 2, a seminar co-sponsored by the Center d'Eludes de Politique Étrangére de Paris and the Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile took place in the city of Arica, to examine the European experience and the Latin American process of economic and political integration. The work of the Seminar was organized around the consideration of seven general topics, each one examined from the European and Latin American points of view. The Arica Seminar was an interesting effort for the coexistence of two types of dialogue: one carried out between Europeans on the issue of ramification and the European Economic Community, and another between Latin Americans on the problem of integration in Latin America.
