Essays: Manuscripts that privilege the personal point of view of the author, conceived as reflective contributions both from disciplinary and inter/trans-disciplinary perspectives. Length from 3,000 to 4,500 words.

Notes: Documents that report on events, theatrical/scenic laboratories, discussion sessions, or relevant archives in the field of performing arts. Length from 1,000 to 4,500 words.

Reviews: Critical comments on recent publications (books or journals) that represent an area of interest for theatre/performance studies. Length from 2,000 to 2,500 words.

Translations: Texts of relevance in the field of theatre and performing arts, and whose translation quality can be referenced by their authors. Eventually, TEATRO will publish translations of dramatic texts, unpublished and duly authorised by their authors. Length up to 9,000 words.

Manuscript submission:

Manuscripts must be submitted through the platform. Important: Manuscripts that do not comply with the editorial standards of the journal will be rejected in the preliminary evaluation process.

• Contributions – whether articles, essays, reviews, dramatic texts, or translations – can be made in Spanish, Portuguese, or English, with the decision to publish in the original language or its translation being the responsibility of the Executive Committee and the Editorial Board. In the latter case, it will be the responsibility of the author to provide a translated version into Spanish. A footnote should be included, detached from the title, with the name and qualifications of the person who reviewed the Portuguese or English version of the article.
• The files to be submitted must be in doc. or docx. format, with a maximum size of 20 mb. They must use font size 12, Times New Roman, and 1.5 line spacing.
• The manuscript must follow the referencing criteria of the APA 7th edition.
• During the editing process, the manuscript will be adapted to TEATRO’s editorial format.
• Two versions of the manuscript must be uploaded to the platform in a single submission: the first must include author information (author's name, email address, academic degree, and academic affiliation, if applicable, as well as their ORCID number). In the second version, author identification must be removed from the text and file properties, thus ensuring the journal's confidentiality criterion, in case of peer review.
• Each author must include a curriculum vitae of no more than 7 or 8 lines in the same submission.
• The manuscript must include an abstract of maximum 150 words in length and five keywords, in Spanish and English. It must also include a title in Spanish and English.
• Figures and tables should be inserted in the body of the text and not at the end; each one must have its own caption and source.
• If the manuscript is based on research that presents real risks to participants, it is mandatory to present the opinion of the Ethics Committee of the sponsoring institution.
• Submitted articles resulting from research funded by agencies and/or funding institutions must provide their folio numbers in a footnote to the title of the text.
• The submission of the original article implies authorization for its publication under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Noderivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), and it will be published in Revista TEATRO in its digital and print versions.
• TEATRO accepts research communications articles already published in Annals of events, provided they are substantially reviewed and expanded. The author must, in a footnote, explain and refer to the appropriate Annals.
• If the text submitted to TEATRO is the result of a finalization of program work, conference, or thesis, it must be rewritten as an article, referencing in a footnote the work that originated it.
• It is recommended that texts regarding performances, shows, or similar events include images and/or videos/links, which must appear in the body of the text, subtitled, and indicating the referenced source.
• Authors are responsible for the content of their works (articles, essays, reviews, translations).
• Any use of external material must be authorised by its authors under the exceptions provided by the Intellectual Property Law. By submitting the manuscript, the author accepts the editorial and intellectual property standards of Revista TEATRO.
