The main purpose of this paper is to present a concrete proposal on some of the topics that an agenda on the international relations of Latin American countries could contain. The proposals are: to study the international relations of Latin American countries in the framework of South-South cooperation; discuss the insertion of Latin America in the new international economic order proposed at the end of 1974; analyze in depth those cases of countries that have acquired greater international relevance; to examine some of the specific external pressures exerted on the most vulnerable countries by the great centers of economic power; to know if there is a link between the character of the political regime and the degree of openness of the foreign policy of a given country, and to deepen the analysis of the use of border conflicts as a legitimizing element of specific political regimes.
