Abstract

This article develops an inquire into the teaching of philosophy and the elderlies. To do so, it begins by considering the relevance of an Educational gerontology that helps create new images of the elderlies. This work within the teaching of philosophy entails a deep discussion of the discipline itself. It also involves revisiting the existing representations of aging bodies in our present context. With this purpose in mind, thecontributions of Critical Gerontology and gender studies are analyzed. The hypothesis proposed is that through queer theory, it is posible to conceive an education of philosophy that includes the elderlies. This theory promotes a critique of traditional philosophy teaching and the desexualization of the elderlies. Moreover, it is useful for imagining new forms of eroticism that account for the multiplicity of bodies and desires.
