Abstract

This study analyzed the non-consensual dissemination of intimate images as a phenomenon of cyber victimization that predominantly affects women, constituting a worrying form of online gender violence. To do this, qualitative interviews were conducted with women who have lived these experiences in Chile. From this study, the contexts in which it occurs, the self-perception of themselves and the relevance of creating primary and secondary support networks that make this problem visible from a gender perspective are identified. The stories and their subsequent analysis reveal key information to understand these events as forms of sexual violation facilitated by digital platforms that deserve a national approach.
