Abstract

There is a recurrent question regarding the distinction of feminist approaches to epistemologies, methodologies, methods and techniques formulated in different ways, but which refer to whether there is a specifically feminist method. To this end, this paper attempts to reflect on the research designs used in the 453 articles with gender perspectives published in the 236 Ibero-American journals of International Relations indexed in the Latindex, SciELO and Redalyc platforms, in the 2009-2019 time range. The work is organised taking as a starting point the recognition of the diversity of research practices. Given that these practices are generalised, the cognitive subject has a primordial space, so that the first data are traversed by this constitutive dimension. From here, on the basis of a conceptual theoretical distinction, methodologies, methods and techniques are broken down. Finally, we arrive at preliminary general and specific conjectures about the field of study.
