Abstract

This study aims to examine the invisibilization of the intellectual role of Chilean women in knowledge production, understanding it as a form of epistemic injustice. Through the analysis of the works of Rosario Orrego, Lucrecia Undurraga, Amanda Labarca, and Orfilia Lagunas, this research highlights their contributions to Chile’s intellectual history from a gendered and inclusive perspective. We hypothesize that this invisibilization stems from gender biases rooted in institutional and socio-cultural patriarchal structures. The research methodology employed consists of a critical analysis of written sources—such as chronicles published in women’s press, serialized novels, and philosophical essays—establishing extratextual dialogues with their sociohistorical context of production.
